This mindfulness script is designed to help you guide your clients through the reflective and renewing energy of the new moon. It offers a gentle, grounded framework for supporting them as they release old patterns, reconnect with their inner landscape, and plant fresh intentions for the cycle ahead. Use this session to create a calm, introspective container where clients can settle into stillness and explore possibilities with openness and clarity.
Let’s get started.
New Moon Mindfulness Script:
Invite your client to settle into a posture—seated or lying down—that allows their body to fully release and rest. Encourage them to let the muscles around the eyes soften, the jaw unclench, and the shoulders melt down the back.
Invite your clients to notice their posture, so that they place their hands wherever feels most natural, allowing the body to feel supported and grounded. Give them a few gentle breaths to arrive, letting the pace of the mind slow and the nervous system begin to settle as presence quietly emerges.
As they take these early breaths, guide them to simply observe the natural rhythm of inhaling and exhaling. There is nothing they need to adjust or perfect—only the soft awareness of breath moving in and breath moving out.
Invite them to imagine each inhale as a subtle opening through the chest and belly, and each exhale as a quiet, gentle release. Remind them that the breath is the bridge connecting the inner and outer worlds, and with every cycle, they can feel themselves settling deeper into the present moment, more anchored and more at ease.
As the breath continues to ground them, invite your client to imagine the sky above them—dark, quiet, and expansive. The new moon is barely visible, a thin shadow in a vast and peaceful night.
Encourage them to sense that this darkness is not emptiness, but rich potential. It is a cocoon of renewal, a pause before the next cycle of illumination begins. Let them rest in this fertile stillness, knowing that the absence of light provides a rare invitation to turn inward and imagine what new possibilities may soon take shape.
Gently guide them into a deeper connection with their body, moving through a slow, spacious scan of awareness. Invite ease through the scalp and forehead, softening the space around the eyes.
Continue down through the cheeks and jaw, allowing these areas to release any lingering tension. Move awareness to the throat and shoulders, noticing sensations without judgment.
Guide their attention down the arms, through the chest and ribcage, the belly, and the hips. Continue through the thighs, knees, calves, and finally the feet.
Encourage them to release tension where they can and simply acknowledge the areas where ease feels more difficult. Invite them to sense the natural weight of the body grounding into the earth, as though the darkness of the new moon is gently holding them in place—steady, quiet, and supported.
From this grounded space, guide your client to bring gentle awareness to the center of the chest, the heart space. Encourage them to explore, without pressure, what they may be ready to release—habits that no longer serve them, emotions they have outgrown, patterns they wish to soften, or beliefs they are ready to let go of.
Allow these thoughts to rise naturally, without force. Suggest they imagine exhaling these old layers into the soft darkness around them, trusting that release creates room for renewal.
Once they have made space through release, guide them to shift attention toward what they hope to invite into their life moving forward. Encourage them to sense these intentions rather than decide them intellectually—clarity, courage, compassion, personal growth, new opportunities, or emotional healing.
As each intention forms, invite them to imagine placing it gently into rich, dark soil, like planting a seed beneath the new moon sky. Remind them that the energy of the new moon is subtle and slow. These seeds do not need to bloom right away. They need time, patience, and trust to take root and grow.
Invite your client to rest here for a few moments, breathing softly with their intentions, allowing the quiet strength of new beginnings to settle within them. This is a moment of deep receptivity rather than urgency.
The absence of light becomes a nurturing space—a private sanctuary where new possibilities can develop without pressure or expectation. Let them sense these intentions rooted within them, held in stillness and supported by the energy of renewal.
When it feels natural, gently guide your client back toward their physical surroundings. Invite them to deepen their breath and introduce small movements—wiggling fingers, rolling shoulders, stretching legs, or shifting the head softly side to side.
Encourage them to take one final, nourishing breath that fills the body with gratitude and quiet clarity. When they are ready, they may slowly open their eyes, carrying with them the calm strength and intentional energy of the new moon, grounded and prepared for the beginning of a new cycle.
