This guided imagery script is specifically designed for meditation professionals to use with children, helping them develop calmness, focus, and emotional awareness through imaginative and sensory-rich experiences. It is crafted to support children in releasing tension, managing emotions, and building mindfulness skills, all while encouraging creativity and confidence.

The pacing and imagery are gentle, allowing children to feel safe, supported, and fully immersed in the experience, whether in one-on-one sessions, group settings, or classroom environments. This script can be used to help children settle after a busy day, prepare for focused activities, or simply enjoy a moment of peace and relaxation.

Let’s get started.

Guided Imagery Script for Kids:

Begin by inviting the child to find a comfortable position, either sitting or lying down. Encourage them to close their eyes if they feel safe, and take a deep, slow breath in… and gently breathe out. Let’s take another big, slow breath in… and let it out, noticing the body softening and relaxing more with every breath.

With each inhale, imagine breathing in calmness, and with each exhale, imagine letting go of any tension or worries. Feel your shoulders relaxing, your hands becoming soft, and your legs feeling heavy and peaceful.

Now, imagine a bright, magical garden appearing in front of you. The garden is full of tall, leafy trees, colorful flowers in every shape and shade, and soft grass beneath your feet. The sun shines gently, warming your skin in a soothing, cozy way.

You can hear the gentle song of birds high in the trees, the whisper of leaves in the breeze, and perhaps even the soft buzzing of tiny bees visiting the flowers. Take a moment to notice all the colors, the smells, the sounds… everything around you is safe, welcoming, and magical.

As you step into the garden, notice a winding path in front of you. With each step along this path, feel yourself becoming calmer and lighter.

The path might be lined with soft moss, tiny sparkling stones, or petals that feel like velvet under your feet. With each step, imagine yourself feeling more peaceful, more happy, and more present in this magical place.

Soon, you come across a clear, sparkling pond. The water is so clear that you can see small, colorful fish swimming gracefully beneath the surface. Kneel down and dip your fingers into the cool water, feeling its refreshing touch.

Imagine that any worry, tension, or uncomfortable feeling is gently floating away in the ripples of the pond, leaving you feeling lighter and more relaxed.

As you continue walking, notice a friendly animal approaching you. Maybe it’s a soft, fluffy bunny, a playful puppy wagging its tail, or a wise owl perched on a branch. Your new friend is happy to see you, and you feel a warm, comforting feeling in your heart.

Take a moment to greet your friend, perhaps say hello, or simply enjoy the sense of companionship. Together, you explore the garden, sharing quiet moments of laughter, curiosity, and joy.

Look around and notice the little surprises of the garden. Perhaps a butterfly flutters gently across a flower, a hummingbird hovers nearby, or the sweet scent of fresh herbs drifts through the air. You may find a patch of soft moss to sit on, perfect for resting and taking a deep breath.

As you sit, notice the feeling of safety and calmness spreading through your body, from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. With each breath, imagine a warm, glowing light filling you with calm, happiness, and confidence.

Now, imagine a gentle breeze sweeping through the garden, carrying the peaceful sounds and scents with it. The breeze might brush against your cheeks or rustle your hair softly.

With each inhale, breathe in the calmness of the garden… and with each exhale, release any last bits of worry or tension. Feel your body and mind becoming lighter, happier, and more relaxed with every breath.

As the journey comes to a close, take one last look around your magical garden. Notice all the beautiful flowers, the friendly animals, the sparkling water, and the bright sunlight. Feel grateful for this peaceful adventure and the calm it brings.

Take a deep, slow breath in… and gently breathe out, carrying the calm and joy with you. Wiggle your fingers and toes, stretch gently, and when you are ready, slowly open your eyes, bringing the feeling of safety, happiness, and inner peace back with you.

Remember, you can return to this magical garden anytime you wish. Each visit can help you feel calm, joyful, and full of energy, ready to explore the world with a happy heart and a peaceful mind.
