This kundalini guided meditation script is written for yoga teachers, meditation guides, breathwork facilitators and wellness professionals who want to offer a gentle, accessible introduction to kundalini-inspired practice. Rather than vigorous breathing or intense postures, it uses slow breath, quiet attention along the spine and soft imagery of light rising from the base of the body to the crown. It suits clients who are curious about kundalini meditation but prefer a calm, grounded experience that ends in stillness rather than stimulation.
You can use this script to close a kundalini yoga class, to open a workshop on energy and awareness, or as a stand-alone contemplative session of about fifteen minutes. The script below is written to be read aloud, word for word, directly to your clients. Read slowly, let your voice stay warm and even, and honor every pause. This is a contemplative practice for relaxation and self-awareness, not a therapy or a medical treatment, and it is not a substitute for professional care. Invite anyone who feels lightheaded to return to natural breathing at any time.
Let’s get started.
Kundalini Guided Meditation Script:
Find a comfortable seated position, either on a cushion with your legs crossed or on a chair with your feet resting flat on the floor. Let your spine rise tall, as if a soft thread were drawing the crown of your head toward the sky. Rest your hands on your knees or in your lap, palms open or gently closed. When you are ready, let your eyes close or lower your gaze to the floor.
(Pause)
Take a slow breath in through your nose… and let it flow out through your nose. Again, breathe in slowly… and breathe out. There is nowhere you need to be and nothing you need to do. This time is simply for you.
(Pause for several breaths)
Begin to notice the places where your body meets the ground. Feel the weight of your hips, the contact of your legs or feet, the steady support beneath you. Let yourself be held. With each exhale, allow a little more weight to settle down into the earth.
Now let your attention move gently through your body. Soften your forehead. Unclench your jaw and let your tongue rest. Let your shoulders melt down and away from your ears. Feel your chest rise and fall. Let your belly be soft. If you notice any tightness, simply breathe toward it and let it be.
(Pause)
Bring your awareness to the very base of your spine. Notice whatever is there: warmth, coolness, pressure, tingling, or perhaps nothing at all. Whatever you feel is welcome. Imagine a small, gentle glow resting here, like the first warm light of morning before the sun has risen. It is calm. It is patient. It is a part of you that has always been here.
(Pause for several breaths)
Now let your breath become long and slow. As you breathe in, imagine that soft glow beginning to rise, moving just a little way up along your spine. As you breathe out, let it rest where it is, steady and warm. Breathe in, and the light rises a little more. Breathe out, and it settles. There is no rush. The light moves only as far as feels comfortable for you.
(Pause)
Feel the glow arrive at your lower belly, just below your navel. Imagine it warming this space like sunlight on still water. Breathe in… and breathe out. Notice any sense of ease, creativity or flow that lives here.
(Pause)
On your next breath in, let the light rise to the center of your body, just above your navel. Imagine it shining like a small, steady flame. Feel a quiet strength here, a sense that you can stand in your own life with confidence and calm. Breathe out, and let that strength settle.
(Pause for several breaths)
Breathe in, and let the light rise into the center of your chest. Feel the space around your heart grow a little wider, a little softer. Imagine the glow becoming warm and gentle here, like the touch of a kind hand. Breathe out, and let kindness spread through your chest and into your arms.
(Pause)
Breathe in, and let the light rise into your throat. Feel your neck soften. Imagine this space becoming clear and open, like a calm sky after rain. Breathe out slowly, and let your voice, your truth, feel welcome here.
(Pause)
Breathe in, and let the light rise to the space between your eyebrows. Rest your attention here lightly, without strain. Imagine a soft, clear glow, quiet and wise. Breathe out, and allow your mind to grow still, like a lake with no wind upon it.
(Pause for several breaths)
Now, on your next breath in, let the light rise to the crown of your head. Imagine it gently opening into a wide, peaceful radiance above you, as if your whole body were bathed in soft morning light. Breathe out, and let this light pour down over your face, your shoulders, your chest, your arms, your belly, your hips, your legs and your feet, all the way back to the earth.
(Pause)
Rest now in the whole of your body. Feel the gentle energy from the base of your spine to the crown of your head, steady and calm. You do not need to do anything with it. Simply notice that you are alive, awake and here.
(Pause for several breaths)
Let your breath return to its natural rhythm. Silently, you might repeat a few simple words to yourself as you breathe. Breathing in, “I am.” Breathing out, “at peace.” Breathing in, “I am.” Breathing out, “at peace.” Let the words become softer and softer until only the stillness remains.
(Pause for one minute)
If at any point the energy feels too strong, imagine the light gently settling back down to the base of your spine and into the ground beneath you. Feel your feet. Feel your hips. Feel the steady earth holding you. You are safe, supported and in control of your own experience.
(Pause)
Now begin to gather this calm, awake feeling into the center of your chest, like folding a soft blanket. Know that you can return to this quiet, steady place whenever you need it, simply by breathing slowly and bringing your attention to your spine.
(Pause)
Take a deeper breath in… and a long, slow breath out. Begin to feel the room around you. Notice the sounds near and far. Gently move your fingers and toes. Roll your shoulders. If it feels good, bring your palms together in front of your heart and bow your head slightly, honoring the time you have given yourself.
(Pause)
When you are ready, slowly open your eyes. Take a moment before you move on, and carry this steady, gentle light with you into the rest of your day.
Tips for Facilitators
Keep the breath slow and natural throughout, and avoid adding fast or forceful breathing techniques for clients who are new to kundalini practice.
Leave plenty of silence after each rising step so clients can notice their own experience without being rushed toward any particular sensation.
Close with a few minutes of quiet sitting or a grounding activity, such as feeling the feet on the floor, before clients stand up or leave.
